I have had great success with hypnotherapy for weight loss. All my clients have come to me armed to the teeth with the answers to why they want to lose weight, they know what they are supposed to eat, when, in what combinations and for how long. But they feel their ‘willpower’ lets them down and that they cannot keep their ‘diet’ up without succumbing to temptation.
Why am I not surprised they find it so difficult?
My answer is simple, if you focus on food or a lack of food all day guess what? Yes, your entire attention and therefore desire is on eating. The more you desire something, the more appealing it appears. The more you deny yourself that delicious sweet, creamy, crumbly, fruity, something, so the more unavailable and attractive it becomes. Actually you have tremendous will power, it's just focussed in a different place, DENIAL.
Hypnosis is like being focussed and relaxed at the same time. This simple shift in brain activity allows you to access part of your mind that contains all your beliefs and habits. Hypnotherapy is the combination of this focussed and relaxed state teamed up with therapeutic suggestions for new ways of living.
